Description

CNC Machine Operator

Finish Line Staffing Services is seeking an experienced CNC Machine Operator to support precision manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating CNC milling or turning equipment, interpreting engineering drawings, and performing quality inspections to ensure parts meet established specifications.

This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain production efficiency while adhering to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

CNC Machining & Operations

  • Read and interpret blueprints, routers, and work instructions to complete assigned production tasks.

  • Operate CNC machinery, including mills and/or lathes, to manufacture precision components.

  • Load and unload parts while maintaining established cycle times and production specifications.

  • Select appropriate machine settings and perform offsets and adjustments as needed.

  • Perform tool changes based on tool wear and specific machining requirements.

Quality Control & Inspection

  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

  • Ensure manufactured components meet established quality standards and customer specifications.

  • Identify and report defective materials, equipment concerns, or other quality issues to the appropriate supervisor.

  • Maintain accurate production documentation, including travelers and inspection records.

  • Track and document daily production output to support manufacturing targets.

Safety & Workplace Organization

  • Follow established safety procedures and properly utilize required personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.

  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and promptly report mechanical or operational concerns.

  • Communicate outstanding tasks, production updates, and equipment issues during shift transitions.

Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating CNC machinery in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience operating CNC mills and/or lathes.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, routers, and manufacturing work instructions.

  • Proficiency with precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with G-code and M-code programming.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.
