Description
Finish Line Staffing Services is hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Plastics Engineer to support injection molding manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting molding processes to ensure consistent product quality, reduce waste, and improve overall production efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise and a hands-on approach to continuous improvement and new product launches.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot injection molding processes
- Support new product launches, including tooling and material selection
- Drive process improvements to reduce scrap and improve cycle times
- Manage custom customer projects and serve as a key point of contact
- Interpret blueprints and 3D CAD files to support production and design needs
- Utilize SolidWorks to manage new projects and support tool quoting
- Review and approve tool designs and engineering changes
- Partner with manufacturing teams to ensure production readiness and tooling performance
- Coordinate with external tool vendors for mold repairs and modifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Plastics Engineering preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in plastics injection molding
- Strong knowledge of mold building, raw materials, equipment, and molding techniques
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD
- Experience working with ERP systems such as IQMS
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
