Position Overview
We are seeking a Director of Electrical & Systems Engineering to lead the design and execution of electrical and systems engineering initiatives for advanced medical devices. This role requires both technical depth and leadership expertise, with responsibility for guiding engineering teams, ensuring compliance with global standards, and delivering robust product solutions from concept through commercialization.
Key Responsibilities

Define electrical architecture and oversee design, testing, and integration of complex electromechanical systems.

Provide leadership to engineering teams on new product development, sustaining engineering, and field issue resolution.

Develop design requirements, specifications, and supporting documentation including DFMEA, theory of operation, and release packages.

Direct verification and validation strategies, ensuring compliance with international regulatory standards.

Partner with contract manufacturers on PCBAs, components, and test process development.

Investigate and resolve issues related to design, manufacturing, and field performance.

Lead departmental planning, budgeting, and goal-setting activities.

Collaborate with cross-functional groups including Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations.
Management Responsibilities

Supervise senior-level engineers, provide performance feedback, and support professional development.

Oversee external contractors, consultants, and junior staff as required.

Maintain awareness of industry trends, design methodologies, and engineering tools.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

10+ years of electrical design experience within medical devices or highly regulated industries.

Minimum 3 years of engineering management experience.

Demonstrated expertise in digital and analog circuit design, system integration, and compliance testing.

Strong knowledge of IEC 60601 and other global regulatory standards.

Proven project management experience in leading complex R&D programs.
Preferred Qualifications

Certified Project Management credential.

Experience with lithium-ion battery systems or advanced power management.

Familiarity with Altium, OrCAD, and Allegro design tools.
