Description
Our client, a global manufacturer of electronic components and subsystems, has an immediate opening for a Configuration Manager. This role will be responsible for overseeing the integrity and consistency of the company's system by ensuring that all changes are reviewed, approved, and thoroughly documented through the Engineering Change Order (ECO) process.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update the configuration management database (CMDB) to accurately reflect the current state of the system
- Develop and implement configuration management plans, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements
- Track and report on compliance to configuration management policies and procedures
- Collaborate closely with the quality and engineering teams to address and resolve any compliance issues that arise
- Act as a subject matter expert on configuration management best practices and provide guidance and support to other teams as needed
- Conduct regular audits to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the configuration management documentation
- Participate in change control meetings to review proposed changes and provide input on potential impacts to the system
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
- U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Proven experience in configuration management, change management, or a similar role
- Strong understanding of configuration management principles and best practices
- Knowledge of engineering operations processes and procedures
- Familiarity with configuration management tools and software
- Exceptional technical writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and concisely
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
