Description
Our client, a medical device manufacturing company, has an immediate opening for a CNC Machinist. The role will operate computer-controlled machine centers to perform one or more machine functions.
Responsibilities:
- Access ERP system to log into specific work orders
- Insert and load control instructions into machine control units to start operation
- Pull set up sheet for the product/program
- Load work pieces onto machine
- Clean and maintain machines, tooling, and parts to maintain equipment in optimal production condition
- Lift work pieces, fixtures, and vices to machine manually or with hoist or crane
- Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and adjust machines to fix any problems
- Remove and replace dull cutters
- Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
- Prep stock for upcoming work orders on the schedule as needed
- Ability to run more than one work center
- Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries following all safety regulations
- Report manufacturing problems to shift lead for troubleshooting and resolution
- Must adhere to all company policies
- Understand and follow quality management system procedures related to ISO 13485
- Understand and follow Work Instructions and their related data collection documents (e.g., run sheets)
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing or metal working
- Blueprint reading / interpretation preferred
- Experience with Hurco 3 axis machining preferred ( Hurco VM CNC vertical milling machines )
- Basic knowledge of cutting tools preferred
- Basic knowledge of G&M codes preferred
