Production Floor Supervisor

Job Summary

The Production Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing activities, ensuring production schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This hands-on role will supervise multiple production lines while working alongside the team to support assembly, troubleshoot issues, maintain productivity, and ensure projects are completed within established time standards.

The Production Floor Supervisor will also assign work, train and mentor employees, monitor performance, and support continuous improvement within a regulated manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily production activities across multiple manufacturing and assembly lines.
  • Assign work, establish priorities, monitor progress, and adjust schedules to meet production requirements.
  • Train, coach, and mentor production employees while supporting team performance and development.
  • Work hands-on with the production team to complete assembly and manufacturing tasks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality System requirements, SOPs, work instructions, GMP, GDP, and safety procedures.
  • Perform chassis-level and final product assembly.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, assembly instructions, wiring diagrams, and hardware requirements.
  • Perform electronic wiring, soldering, and assembly of complex electromechanical systems and panels.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical assembly issues.
  • Test and inspect finished products for defects and quality requirements.
  • Complete required production, quality, and regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized manufacturing environment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and help resolve production issues.
  • Support special projects and additional production needs as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory or production leadership experience required.
  • Experience training and mentoring manufacturing employees.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, procedures, and wire-run diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with electromechanical assembly, wiring, soldering, crimping, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience using manual and electronic torque tools, hand tools, calipers, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Familiarity with PCBA handling, integration, connectivity, and proper ESD practices.
  • Experience assembling pneumatic and fluidic systems, including pumps, tubing, and interconnects.
  • Understanding of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lead effectively while working collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in an ISO 13485:2016 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Cleanroom assembly experience, preferably ISO Class 7.
  • Experience working to established production time standards.
  • Experience using microscopes for small-component assembly.
  • Familiarity with part-cleaning processes such as ultrasonic cleaning.
