Description
We are hiring on behalf of our client for a hands-on CWI / Quality Manager to oversee quality systems, welding compliance, and EHS programs within an ASME pressure vessel fabrication environment. This role is responsible for ensuring ASME Code compliance, maintaining welding and inspection standards, and supporting a strong safety-first culture across manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) and Authorized Inspector (AI)
- Ensure compliance with ASME Section VIII, National Board, and customer requirements
- Maintain ASME documentation, MTRs, Data Books, inspection records, and material traceability
- Manage WPS, PQR, and WPQ documentation and welder qualification programs
- Oversee NDE activities, inspection processes, and calibration systems
- Lead non-conformance investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA activities
- Maintain and improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
- Enforce OSHA and EHS compliance across fabrication and assembly operations
- Support safety initiatives including LOTO, PPE, fall protection, crane/hoist safety, and pressure testing procedures
- Lead incident investigations and corrective actions
- Exercise stop-work authority when quality or safety standards are not met
Qualifications
- 5+ years of quality leadership experience within ASME pressure vessel, welding, or heavy fabrication environments
- Strong knowledge of ASME Code, welding processes, and NDE methods
- AWS CWI certification required
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Experience with quality documentation, inspections, and Code compliance
- AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks experience preferred
- OSHA 30, CSP, or related safety certifications are a plus
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering preferred
