Regional Sales Manager
Location: Northeast U.S. (NJ, NY, CT, MA, RI, NH, VT & ME)
Compensation: $90,000–$95,000 base salary + performance incentives
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Travel: Regional travel, including approximately 2+ overnight stays per week
Position Overview
King & Bishop is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to manage and expand an established Northeast territory for a manufacturer of specialized industrial equipment and technology.
This opportunity is ideal for a results-driven technical sales professional with experience selling equipment, components, or engineered solutions into the petroleum, fuel-handling, transportation, or related industrial markets.
The Regional Sales Manager will focus on strengthening existing customer relationships, re-engaging inactive accounts, and developing new business opportunities. Initial territory development will emphasize New York and New Jersey.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow an established multi-state sales territory.
- Develop and maintain relationships with distributors, resellers, and end users.
- Identify new business opportunities and re-engage existing accounts.
- Conduct approximately 15–20 in-person customer visits weekly.
- Present technical products and recommend solutions based on customer applications.
- Develop relationships with petroleum distributors, fuel transportation companies, terminals, and industrial customers.
- Independently manage territory planning, travel schedules, and customer appointments.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity, and pipeline reporting.
- Attend industry trade shows and networking events as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in technical outside sales, territory management, or industrial equipment sales.
- Experience selling equipment or components into petroleum, fuel handling, transportation, terminal operations, or related industrial markets strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with products such as pumps, meters, valves, instrumentation, grounding systems, process controls, or fluid-handling equipment is highly desirable.
- Experience working with distributors and resellers while developing direct end-user relationships.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate product applications.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and business development skills.
- Ability to independently manage a large geographic territory.
- Willingness to travel regularly, including overnight stays.
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and proficiency with CRM systems.
