The Plant Manager will play a critical role in both day-to-day operations and long-term growth, partnering closely with leadership to drive operational excellence, compliance, and scalability.

Position Overview

The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of plant operations, including sterilization processes, equipment performance, and team development, while ensuring compliance within a regulated manufacturing environment.

This role combines technical expertise, operational leadership, and strategic execution, with significant time spent on the production floor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all plant operations, including sterilization processing, equipment performance, maintenance, and workflow optimization
  • Serve as the on-site subject matter expert for sterilization methods (e.g., EtO, gamma, steam)
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment and mechanical systems
  • Lead and optimize PLC-based systems (including barcode tracking and process validation)
  • Design and implement scalable processes, systems, and infrastructure to support organizational growth
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory standards
  • Support the development and formalization of quality systems as operations expand
  • Work hands-on on the production floor alongside team members
  • Recruit, train, and develop staff to support rapid team growth
  • Establish KPIs, workflows, and best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput
  • Partner with leadership on strategic planning, operational improvements, and growth initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology, or a related field
  • Demonstrated expertise in medical device sterilization processes
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in plant operations and equipment troubleshooting
  • Experience with PLC systems, including process automation and tracking systems
  • Proven ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience working within regulated industries (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485, or similar)
