Description

Mechanical Engineer

We are hiring on behalf of our client for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead complex engineering projects and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams. This role is ideal for a seasoned engineering professional who thrives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment and enjoys balancing technical execution, client engagement, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of engineering projects
  • Review engineering reports, drawings, and specifications for compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Maintain company standards related to quality, efficiency, and safety
  • Identify project deficiencies and implement corrective solutions
  • Recommend new technologies, tools, and process improvements to enhance engineering performance
  • Lead project proposals, cost estimates, and bid preparation
  • Serve as a primary client contact and support ongoing business development efforts
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and long-range planning initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and permitting requirements
  • Mentor and oversee engineers, designers, drafters, and field teams
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance management of engineering staff
  • Exercise independent judgment to solve complex technical challenges and drive project success

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
  • PE license required
  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience
  • Operations or construction experience strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and project execution
  • Proven leadership experience managing engineering teams and complex projects
  • Ability to develop proposals, budgets, and cost estimates
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven environment with shifting priorities

Work Environment & Travel

  • Combination of office and field-based work
  • Field work may include outdoor construction site environments in varying weather conditions
  • Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required
  • Travel up to 50% required
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and use hands regularly
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work both at a desk and in active field environments
