Our client, a highly regarded civil engineering firm, is seeking an experienced large industrial facilities Civil Engineer (CE).  The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing oil and gas plants, paper mills processing facilities, manufacturing and waste treatment plants.

Responsibilities:

• Site Civil Design, including:
  • Site development, drainage, and roadways
  • Structural steel design (RISA 3D preferred)
  • Concrete and HMA pavement designs
  • Foundation designs (RISA Foundations preferred)
  • Develop specification packages for buildings, materials, and construction procedures
  • Permitting (experience is a plus)
• Work with clients; the development of bid specifications, qualifying, managing, and interfacing with subcontractors
• Analyze reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
• Calculate cost and determine feasibility of project based on analysis of collected data
• Prepare or direct preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, an
• designs for project
• Inspect construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards
• Directly support on-site Site Supervisors for project support during construction
• Use computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents

Requirements:

• BS degree in Civil Engineering
• PE preferred but not required
• 8-10 years-experience preferred
• An understanding on the interrelation of civil, mechanical, and electrical disciplines on construction projects is a plus
• Experience in LNG, LPG, and/or natural gas is preferred, but applicable non-gas, industrial or utility experience will be considered
• Experience with industrial site design and construction
• MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
• AutoCAD Civil experience a plus
• Multi-tasking manage deadlines
• Ability to travel locally and nationally, potentially 10%-15% of the time
