Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support in-process inspection activities within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on evaluating solder workmanship on printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies, identifying non-conformances, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure product quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process inspection of solder workmanship on PCB assemblies using a microscope
  • Conduct mechanical inspections using tools such as MicroHite height gages and digital calipers
  • Identify and communicate non-conformance issues to Engineering and Manufacturing teams
  • Support resolution of quality issues through collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Maintain accurate inspection logs and tracking spreadsheets
  • Collect and record data to support quality reporting and traceability
  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for documentation and communication
  • Capture photographic documentation of workmanship as needed
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in PCB inspection or related electronic manufacturing environment
  • Experience inspecting hybrid microelectronic devices (e.g., ribbon bonds) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate, legible quality records
  • Ability to read and interpret revision-controlled drawings
  • Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems

Technical Requirements

  • Working knowledge of industry standards including J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 (required)
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-883 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 a plus
  • Experience using inspection tools such as microscopes, height gages, and calipers

Work Environment & Skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Comfortable working in a Class 100,000 cleanroom setting, as needed
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact professionally with internal teams and occasional customer contact
