
Description
We are hiring on behalf of our client for a Purchasing Manager to oversee and manage the procurement of raw materials, packaging, operational supplies, and capital equipment for their blown plastic film production. This is a highly visible role that ensures a cost-effective, efficient, and reliable supply chain by building strong vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and collaborating across departments to meet production goals.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with company objectives.

Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and service providers.

Monitor market trends, pricing, and material availability.

Align procurement plans with production forecasts and inventory needs.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to optimize costs and reduce risk.

Ensure timely material availability while resolving supply chain issues.

Manage procurement processes in compliance with policies and regulations.

Handle purchase and transport of capital equipment sourced globally.
Essential Duties

Source and procure raw materials (e.g., chloride resins, additives, and other film inputs).

Issue and manage purchase orders within ERP/MRP systems.

Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews.

Analyze procurement data to identify cost-saving opportunities.

Collaborate with vendors, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.

Resolve delivery delays, quality issues, and billing discrepancies.

Maintain accurate records of contracts and transactions.

Coordinate closely with finance and production teams.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred).

5+ years in procurement or supply chain management within manufacturing.

2+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity.

Plastics or packaging manufacturing experience highly preferred.
