Position Summary
The Metal Finishing Technician is responsible for grinding, polishing, and preparing metal components to meet high-quality standards for both function and appearance. This role ensures that all parts are free of defects, properly finished, and ready for assembly or shipment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to consistent workmanship in a production environment.
Key Responsibilities
Metal Finishing & Polishing

Grind, sand, clean, and polish metal parts to remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface defects.

Operate finishing tools such as belt sanders, hand grinders, polishers, and deburring equipment.

Apply appropriate finishing techniques to achieve specified surface textures and appearance requirements.
Quality Assurance

Inspect finished parts to ensure compliance with workmanship and quality standards.

Report surface finish concerns or part issues to team leads or managers.

Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve finishing challenges.
Safety & Workplace Organization

Follow all company safety procedures and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on finishing tools and equipment.
Qualifications
Required

Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Fine motor skills and manual dexterity for precision finishing tasks.
Preferred

2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
