Our client, a manufacturer of complex microwave products for the military and commercial markets, has an immediate opening for a Staff Engineer. This role will be instrumental in identifying new business opportunities, leading high-impact engineering projects, and fostering innovation in electronically steerable antenna (ESA) terminals.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and source new business and technology opportunities that align with the company’s engineering and strategic growth objectives
- Lead critical engineering projects, including due diligence efforts, with a strong focus on cross-functional system requirements
- Analyze market intelligence and industry trends to assess competitive positioning and inform strategic evaluations for potential partnerships and pipeline development
- Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and recommendations to support data-driven decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement technology and partnership strategies
- Oversee integration and development initiatives within the engineering department, ensuring alignment with technical goals and timelines
- Lead R&D efforts focused on advanced ESA terminal technologies, including active/passive phased arrays, beam steering methods, and related innovations
- Create and maintain a forward-looking technology roadmap for ESA systems, incorporating industry trends, product lifecycle analysis, and emerging innovations in satellite communications
- Promote the use of cutting-edge RFIC technologies, exploring novel architectures, materials, and manufacturing techniques to maintain competitive leadership in SATCOM
- Ensure robust integration of ESA panels and RFICs with satellite payloads, ground infrastructure, and communication networks—emphasizing scalability, interoperability, and long-term sustainability
- Work closely with commercial and defense sector clients to understand SATCOM requirements and deliver tailored ESA/RFIC solutions that meet both operational and strategic goals
Requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field (Ph.D. in a relevant technical discipline preferred)
- MBA or equivalent business education/experience
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in military or commercial satellite communications (SATCOM)
