Description
Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-performance electronic components, is seeking a skilled Surface Mount Machine Operator to join their growing production team. This role is responsible for operating and maintaining advanced surface mount technology (SMT) equipment used to assemble electronic components onto printed circuit boards (PCBs). The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, technically proficient, and dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency in every production run.
Key Responsibilities

Operate and Set Up SMT Equipment: Prepare and operate solder paste printers, pick-and-place machines, and reflow ovens to support efficient PCB assembly.

Verify and Inspect: Confirm placement programs for accuracy; inspect components and finished boards for defects or quality issues.

Troubleshoot and Maintain: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve equipment malfunctions or process errors; perform adjustments during production to maintain optimal output.

Quality Assurance: Evaluate solder conditions post-reflow and apply IPC Standards to ensure all assemblies meet quality requirements.

Manual Assembly: Perform manual part placement or rework when necessary.

Documentation & Compliance: Follow assembly instructions, work orders, and engineering drawings; maintain ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) controls and safety standards.

Collaboration & Training: Assist in training other SMT operators, support additional lines when needed, and partner with engineering teams to provide input for process improvements and new builds.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process efficiency and quality enhancement initiatives.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Minimum of three (3) years of related experience in SMT operations.
