
Description
Our client, a manufacturer of top-quality work trucks and trailers, has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Engineer. This person will play a key role at the intersection of the Production, Engineering, and Quality departments to drive continuous improvement projects with the aim to improve quality and reduce process variability and production cost.
Responsibilities:
- Identify areas of improvement by analyzing product and process data
- Identify root causes for product and process variation by using a variety of lean manufacturing methodologies
- Implement improvements through changes in documentation, training, and work practices
- Lead Corrective Action Preventative Action (CAPA) team activities
- Perform audits of internal procedures, instructions, and requirements
- Coordinate metrology equipment programming, calibration, and maintenance
- Assist with Supplier Quality Management
- Develop inspection plans and SPC monitoring
- Plan, execute, and evaluate internal audits
- Responsible for Key Performance Indicator maintenance, communication of results, coordination of improvement efforts, and goal settings
- Other activities as designated
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 year technical degree (manufacturing/mechanical engineering) or the suitable combination of education and work experience
- Bachelor's/graduate degree with relevant coursework is preferred
- 3-5 years prior experience in a similar position required
- Must have strong working knowledge of quality control and manufacturing equipment and processes
- Professional certifications such as 6 Sigma Green/Black Belt are preferred
- Must be able to handle multiple projects across the organization and provide leadership to, collaborate with, and work with employees at varying level of seniority
- MS Office applications and data analysis software experience required
- Must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and to gain the respect of other employees
