
Description
Our client, a medical equipment manufacturer, has an immediate need for an IT Systems Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Administrate highly available VMWare ESXi environments.
- Manage, administer, and provide day-to-day communication/network security operation, maintenance, and networking configuration of multiple secure network infrastructures.
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot SonicWall firewalls, Cisco/ HP switches, and various other network and telecommunication components in both physical and virtual environments.
- Configure firewall rules, load balancing, routing, and VPNs and test and monitor connectivity and network performance for both internal and external connections and troubleshoot network issues.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
- Provide IT related assistance to employees for the use of computer hardware, software, and other IT devices.
- Act as a liaison for the site IT operation, communicating, resolving, and/or initiating the resolution of problems and concerns.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate software and computer equipment.
- IT Asset management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field/Minimum 3-5 years of systems engineering, network engineering, security engineering experience.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining machines in a Windows 8, 10, 11 and MAC and help desk support.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 package.
- Experience in printer (label making) troubleshooting.
- Experience interacting with employees at all levels and great communication skills including the ability to present technical information in an easily understood manner.
- US work authorization is required.
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to maneuver under desks in order to fix/install equipment.
- The position requires maintaining minimum 40 hours per week. Occasional weekend work as required
