
Description
Our client, a developer of high-precision turned and milled components and parts for aerospace and defense applications, has an immediate opening for a General Manager. This role will lead, manage, and oversee Company Operations, Manufacturing, and Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe work environment that allows for the growth of the employees
- Assess opportunities for employee development and advancement
- Improve profitability by increasing the efficiency of production
- Ensure customer requests and concerns are addressed
- Full P&L understanding and responsibility, including the tracking and reporting of (RM, WIP, and FG) inventory/inventory change (monthly); tracking and meeting/exceeding of organizational goals
- Perform production planning and scheduling balancing customer request date and plant efficiency
- Proactively manage direct labor to forecasted demand levels and inventory needs
- Lead in hiring of new employees to meet company needs
- Other responsibilities as required
Requirements:
- B.S. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a business type minor (or classwork) or Business management degree with technical course work completed preferred
- 5-10 years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment or business setting
- Mechanically inclined
- Advanced math skills
- Ability to read/understand financial statements
- Computer skills (ERP, CAD software, Office software with emphasis on Excel)
- Training in E2 Shop System, Jobboss, Vista, or compatible
- Training in Mastercam, Surfcam, and other CAM systems
- Training in blueprint reading/understanding and ballooning
- Project management, time management, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work occasional customer visits and trade shows
- Ability to work overtime or extended hours often, with occasional odd hours/weekends
