Design Fire Protection Systems for all types of projects including Industrial, Commercial and Residential. Perform layout using AutoCad/HydraCad, and create hydraulic calculations & pipe lists for Pre-fabrication. Must be organized, efficient and work well with the design team.

The designer will be responsible for managing day-to-day requirements for completing project: designs and be able to work on their own.
Prepare NFPA compliant drawings using HydraCad and Autocad
Perform hydraulic calculations using HydraCalc
Prepare submittals for contractors, owners, Fire Marshalls and Building Commissioners
Have an understanding of submittal and permitting process for NE states and towns
Coordinate with estimator to review bids
Conduct field surveys and job meetings for coordination with contractor and other trades
Prepare fabrication drawings, piping and material lists for field crews
Manage job close-outs including; as-builts, O&M’s and warranties
Minimum 3-5 years experience in fire protection design
NICET Certification a plus
Strong knowledge of AutoCad and/or HydraCad
Should have an excellent understanding of NFPA Standards and Building Codes
Strong technology skills
Strong understanding of fire sprinkler system installation practices

Examples include: Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management Degrees. • NICET certification preferred. • High mechanical interest. • Experience in the Fire Protection Design Field is required. • AutoCad experience and/or HydraCad experience is required. • Ability to multi-task to the extreme. • Valid driver's license and excellent driving record required. • Excellent communicator, self-motivated individual with great organizational skills.
