About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and technicians in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. This individual will oversee the execution of engineering projects, drive process improvements, and support the development of innovative production solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership with deep technical expertise, enabling them to foster collaboration, manage priorities, and deliver high-impact results across multiple functions.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, providing clear direction, regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive environment aligned with company values.

Drive performance and development through coaching, goal setting, and progress tracking aligned with departmental and site objectives.

Communicate priorities effectively to manage change and maintain focus on value delivery through simplification and smart prioritization.

Oversee daily execution of engineering projects including process improvements, equipment upgrades, fixture design, and automation initiatives.

Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and achievement of production goals.

Support cost management by tracking project budgets, identifying efficiency opportunities, and contributing to capital investment proposals.

Ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards; participate in root cause analysis, CAPAs, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Promote and uphold a strong safety culture, supporting EHS programs and participating in audits and corrective action activities.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.

Minimum 7 years of manufacturing engineering experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.

At least 3 years of supervisory experience managing both exempt and non-exempt employees.

Proven success implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to influence across departments and lead cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD software (AutoCAD or SolidWorks), and ERP systems (BOMs, routers, traceability).

Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, joining, finishing, plating, soldering, coating, and optics.

Familiarity with electrical and pneumatic systems; PLC programming experience is a plus.

Strong analytical and statistical skills for process evaluation and improvement.

Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Engineering or related field.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.

Working knowledge of regulatory and quality standards including FDA, MDD, and ISO 13485.
